Mira Power Limited is a special purpose company and a subsidiary of Korea Energy (KOEN) setup to design, construct, own, operate and maintain 102 MW Gulpur hydropower plant under Government of Pakistan’s Policy for Power Generation Projects 2002 as adopted in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
The Gulpur hydropower plant has an installed capacity of 102 MW with an annual energy of 465 GWh. Mira Power started its financing activities in April, 2013 and achieved its financial close on 30th October 2015. The construction of the project is carried out by a joint venture of well-known construction companies Daelim and Lotte under the supervision of project lenders and world’s renowned consultants. Whereas, the major machinery and equipment of plant is manufactured and installed by the world’s renowned European electro & hydro-mechanical suppliers.
Along with other challenges and force majeure events, the construction of plant completed on fast track basis and successfully started its Commercial Operations on 10th March, 2020. The Plant is in smooth operation and successfully demonstrating the net generation capacity of 100.98MW every year during its operation under the provision of Power Purchase Agreement. The plant is being operated by a diligent team of KOEN (AJ&K Branch).
