Meeting with Fish Expert & Safeguards Team
ADB and Mira Power Limited met with ecologist and fish experts at Hagler Bailly to review the current status of fish diversity and challenges to ecologically important species.
Safeguards team Visit to Project Site
ADB’s team verified the current status of illegal fishing and threats to Mahasher in Poonch River. AJK Fisheries & Wildlife department caught some of the nets used for fishing. This practice is still underway.
Consultation Activities with Project’s Secondary Stakeholders
ADB’s safeguards representatives completed a site verification visit. The team and MPL representatives conducted an onsite meeting with Director AJK Forest, Fisheries and Wildlife department and Director Himalayan Wildlife Foundation.
Consultation Activities with Project’s Primary Stakeholders
MPL representatives and consultants on LARP (Land Acquisition & Resettlement Plan) have completed the initial phases of Primary Stakeholders consultation at each effected settlement.
Final Negotiation meeting for AJK Implementation Agreement
Last session of AJK Implementation Agreement was held on November 8, 2013 in PPIB Islamabad. All the relevant authorities of Government of AJK, Council and PPIB participated. The agreement is finalized with authorities and ready for initialing with Government of AJK and Council.
