Mira Power Limited successfully signed the Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) Implementation Agreement for the 102MW Gulpur Hydropower Project during a ceremony held on 16 April 2026 in Muzaffarabad. The Agreement was executed with the Forest, Wildlife & Fisheries Department, Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, with the Secretary Forest, Wildlife & Fisheries formally signing the Agreement on behalf of the Department. The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, including representatives from EPA AJ&K, along with other distinguished stakeholders, reflecting strong institutional participation and support. This milestone represents the culmination of sustained efforts by Mira Power Limited since 2016 to strengthen coordination and partnership for biodiversity management within the Project area.

The Biodiversity Action Plan has been under implementation since the construction phase of the Project, focusing on the protection and enhancement of ecological values within the surrounding National Park. The signing of this Agreement further reinforces the shared commitment of all stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the BAP, with a long-term objective of achieving a net gain in biodiversity relative to baseline conditions. The event also underscored the importance of continued collaboration and stakeholder engagement in delivering the Project’s environmental and social commitments.
