Environmental management aims at providing safeguards for and enhancement of social, environmental and economic quality parameters.
MPL is in process of developing an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan which will help proponent to address the adverse environmental impact of the project, enhance project benefits and introduce standards of good environmental practice. The primary objectives areto:
- Define the responsibilities of project proponents, contractors and other role players, and effectively communicate environmental issues among them.
- Facilitate the implementation of the mitigation measures identified in the EIA by providing the details of each project impact.
- Define a monitoring mechanism and identify monitoring parameters to ensure that all mitigation measures are completely and effectively implemented.
The key players in the implementation of the plan are Mira Power Limited (MP), Construction Contractor and EPA AJK.
